
AVIGNON FESTIVAL
Each summer, Théâtre des Doms highlights the boldness of Francophone Belgian creation at the Avignon OFF Festival.
Selected companies receive full support — artistic, technical, and professional — to showcase their work to the public and programmers.
How to apply?
The application is submitted online via the dedicated form.
It consists of two parts:
Once the first part has been submitted, you will automatically receive a personal link allowing you to correct or complete your application at any time.
A confirmation email summarizing your submission will be sent. If you do not receive any email, your application has not been transmitted.

Commitments of the selected companies
The selected companies undertake to:

Ensure the full availability of the team from 19 June to 31 July 2027;

Hold the performance’s distribution rights for this period and the following three seasons;

Be able to tour the performance abroad during these three seasons (at least two periods of 2 months per year);

Provide all requested promotional materials (press kit, photos, mandatory credits) within the specified deadlines.
Hosting Conditions
The Théâtre des Doms provides:

The provision of the venue, technical staff, and equipment necessary for the performances;

Coverage of the transport of the sets from Brussels;
-
The payment of a flat-rate amount per person covering part of salaries, accommodation, travel, and production costs (as per contract);

Communication and promotion of the performance to both the public and industry professionals.
Box office revenue is collected in full by the Théâtre des Doms, in accordance with the venue’s operating model.
Applications received are reviewed by the theatre’s management, assisted by the Théâtre des Doms Advisory Council, composed of professionals from the sector.The shows are selected for their artistic quality, technical feasibility, and potential for international touring.
The results of the selection will be communicated in January 2027.

RESIDENCIES
The Théâtre des Doms hosts French-speaking Belgian companies each season in residence in Avignon, in a setting conducive to research and experimentation. These residencies offer a comprehensive working environment — stage space, accommodation, logistical and artistic support — at the heart of the theatre.They enable artists to develop a project in progress, experiment, rehearse, or finalize a performance before it goes on tour. Residencies may conclude with a public presentation at the end of the residency, open to a supportive and engaged audience.
Application Timeline — 2026 Season

Previously, the selection of residencies was carried out in two sessions per season. En 2027, le calendrier des résidences change !
→ From 1 April to 15 September 2026, residency applications will cover the entire 2027 calendar year.

Hosting Arrangements
Host companies will benefit from:

The provision of the performance hall (stage 8m × 6m, height 4.5m) and workspaces;

On-site accommodation (individual studios with shared kitchen);

Coverage of round-trip transportation Brussels ↔ Avignon (up to €250 per person);

-
A flat-rate grant of €250 including taxes per person;
-

-
Artistic and technical support tailored to the project;
-
-
-
Mobility & Touring Support: Théâtre des Doms offers personalized guidance from the duo Julien Sigard and Françoise Hansoul, covering both touring and production/administration aspects;

The possibility of support for creating visual materials (photos, videos, teaser, to be arranged with the communications officer);

Commitments of the Companies
Selected teams commit to:

Respect the hosting conditions and the venue rules;

Provide the technical sheet and practical information at least two months before the residency;

Mention in all communications: 'With the support of Théâtre des Doms

to submit a residency moral report within the month following their stay.

Selection
Applications are reviewed by the director Sandrine Bergot. The selection criteria are based on the relevance of the project, its feasibility within the venue, and its alignment with the contemporary Francophone creative scene

VISUAL PROPOSAL
This call for applications is closed.
We will soon announce the dates for the 2027 visual call for our OFF program during the Avignon Festival.

Schedule
The call for visual proposals will close on December 1, 2025.
The visual will be selected internally, with the members of the Théâtre des Doms team.
All applicants will receive a response on December 15, 2025.
